    Daniel A. Nafziger, MD, MS, is a board certified infectious disease physician who has been practicing as an infectious disease consultant in the community since 2002. In his previous roles, he served as health officer for the Elkhart County Health Department; medical director at Everence (formerly Mennonite Mutual Aid), Goshen; and medical director of hospital epidemiology at Henry Ford Hospital and later of patient safety in the Henry Ford Health System, Detroit, MI. Dr. Nafziger has delivered numerous presentations on infectious diseases and written extensively for books, journals and abstracts. As Hospital Chief Medical Officer for Goshen Health, Dr. Nafziger serves as a liaison between the medical staff and executive leadership, monitors patient safety and facilitates the delivery of high-quality care. He also supports the credentialing process, works with other medical staff leaders and provides expertise in the prevention of infections.

    Dr. Liz Nafziger is a board certified neurologist at NeuroCare Center Goshen Physicians. She is fellowship trained in hospice and palliative medicine. Dr. Nafziger treats a range of neurological conditions, including headache, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and stroke. She provides symptom management for patients with serious illnesses and assists with advanced care planning.

    During Dr. Nafziger’s residency training, she served as chief resident of the Department of Neurology at the University of Michigan.

    Alicia Navarro, MSN-FNP, is a board certified family nurse practitioner at Goshen Physicians Family Medicine & Urgent Care. With more than 15 years of experience as a registered nurse, Alicia has handled patient assessments, administered medication, provided wound care and post-surgical care. At her previous role at Sturgis Hospital, Alicia developed and implemented a hospital wide evidencebased skin care and wound prevention program and worked on a team to organize and implement an opioid risk assessment tool.     Jody Neer, MD, is a board certified neurologist who treats patients with disorders of the nervous system. Dr. Neer has extensive experience in caring for patients with movement disorders and cognitive conditions that affect the brain, spinal cord and nerves. In 2021, he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) at Indiana University School of Medicine. GHHS members serve as role models, mentors and leaders in health care. Away from his practice, Dr. Neer enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and four children.

    Lindsay Neff is a certified orthopedic nurse practitioner at Goshen Physicians Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. Before joining the team, Lindsay spent several years as a nurse who focused primarily on orthopedic and spinal care, in addition to treating other surgical and general medical patients. As a registered nurse at Goshen Hospital, she served six months on a committee assembled to assess and, ultimately, redevelop the nursing model for the hospital.

    Lindsay earned her Master’s of Science in Nursing from Ball State University in Muncie, IN. In 2009, she received a Patient Choice Award at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN, in recognition of her outstanding dedication to patient care. Since then, she has been selected to join the Honor Society at Ball State University, as well as Phi Kappa Phi, one of the nation’s premier honor societies for academic excellence.

    Biography

    Sultan Niazi, MD, is a board certified internal medicine specialist at Goshen Hospital. He also serves as the medical director for Goshen Physicians Sleep & Allergy Medicine and Goshen Sleep Disorders Center.
     
    Dr. Niazi provides care for critically ill patients in the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU) and progressive care unit (PCU). Many patients in the ICU are in unstable condition caused by disorders, such as cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, strokes or severe trauma.
